Life at the Columbia Icefield is truly extraordinary. We live and work at an elevation of 2,000 metres above sea level, at the foot of the largest body of ice south of the Arctic Circle. We revel in the unique opportunity to connect guests with this iconic place through our two totally unique experiences and our exclusive lodge. We spend our days guiding guests on and around the Athabasca Glacier, and on a peak summer day we share a smile with upwards of 500,000 guests that come through the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre.
We’re a closely-knit team and we hold each other in high regard, at work and at play. In the evenings, the remote area we call home is truly ours. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular here, and we make the most of off-peak times to explore the neighbouring peaks and valleys. We make regular trips to the mountain community of Jasper, 1.5 hours away, to reconnect with the world before returning to our glacier getaway.
Every day, our Columbia Icefield Adventure team provides an experience to be checked off the bucket lists of guests from all over the globe — standing on your own two feet on an ancient glacier.
Have you always wanted to overcome your fear of heights? Then this is the place for you! Spend your days nearly 1,000 feet above a glacier-carved valley with views that will take your breath away.
At the most exclusive of our experiences at the Columbia Icefield, our Glacier View Lodge team provides an all-encompassing glacier getaway unlike any other.
